An indoor facility to cater for a growing area in the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre
The development of the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre includes a 25m lap pool, leisure pool with beach entry, water features and slide, together with toddlers pool, gymnasium, crèche, café, administration and amenities.
Dynamic building forms expressed internal structure and vibrant colours contribute to a playful character appropriate for a recreational facility.
The design was the outcome of a collaboration between specialist consultants responding to detailed functional, and environmental requirements, safety and supervision being major considerations. The dramatic building form makes a sensitive statement in an evolving urban landscape.
